Many plates with partial colouring; (viii), 198, unpaginated explanatory text to the plates. 8 plates. At the end are separate printed title-pages to each of the two volumes. Volume 1 in period half calf and marbled boards, spine and corners a little worn, some plates and text leaves browned, some foxing throughout; v.2 in characteristic Ray Society binding of cloth-backed boards, labels on spine and front board, stamp on the label and foot of front cover, front free end-paper and top margin of first text leaf, end-papers and title a little foxed, otherwise the text is free from foxing.
