Photogravure frontispiece to each volume. All in the original maroon-brown cloth, uncut, some volumes mostly, and others, partially unopened, spines variously faded.

*1. Front cover top corner damp marked not affecting interior, foot of spine indented. 2. Both covers with extreme top corners just damp marked and a very slight indent to foot of spine. 3. Both covers with top corners slightly damp marked. 4. Both covers with top corners damp marked, a little more than in 3 above, not affecting text. 5. Both covers with top corners slightly damp marked and the boards very slightly bowed. 6. Both covers with top corners slightly damp marked. 7. Both covers with top corners slightly damp marked and small arcuate mark on front cover. The damping does not affect text in any of the above. 8. Both joints weak and light vertical crease in final text leaf. 9. Both joints weak. 10. Vertical ripple to the text block and indent to spine, slight silverfish chewing to front free end-paper. 11. Vertical ripple to text block, silverfish damage to four unopened leaves, affecting the margins top and bottom, hardly to the two outer leaves, with loss of a few characters on the last lines of text. 12. Faint vertical ripple to text block, two leaves chewed in lower margins not affecting text. 13. Very faint ring-mark on front cover. 14. Joints weak and slight spine indent. 15. Very faint fading across the top corner of rear board. The remaining 6 volumes are in very good condition and the set is offered in 'reading condition'.
