*WITH a TLS from F. A. MERCER, 1978, to Miss D. Hood, discussing his book, AND 2 x TLSs from DAVID HARRIES who wrote the Foreword, also to Miss Hood, 1974 and 1978, discussing the history of Mercer's. Miss Hood appears to be the daughter of 'Jimmy' Hood, who made the hands for the chronometers AND a Compliments slip from the publisher, with a note from 'Anthony' to David [Harries].
