*PREFACE : 'The crucial experiment was thus successfully made. The British workers succeeded with the accuracy of a laboratory experiment, in a city where rickets is extremely prevalent, in maintaining a large number of artificially fed babies free from the disease ........ In reply to the frequent allusions kindly made in this Report to the hospitality afforded by my Klinik, I can only say that our goodwill was ideally reciprocated by our guests. What Klinik would not be glad to receive such pleasant colleagues with so much energy, such keen scientific interest, and so high a standard of scientific accuracy as our recent visitors, who also identified themselves enthusiastically with the interests of the Klinik and, in the years of special difficulty after the war, did what they could to help in lightening the hardships suffered by the hospitals and the children of Vienna ? [and nearly 100 years later, Brexit !].
