pp. (viii), (v)-xxii, 258. 14 engraved plates of parts by the author; (ii) Half-title, 388. 4 hand-coloured engraved plates showing 49 species. Complete with both half-titles and the interpolated leaf in v.I - Additional note ... & Directions to Binder (recto) and Errata (verso). Contemporary half calf, spines with gilt bands and twin labels, trifling wear to spine ends of v.I, a little foxing at the front of each volume, one text leaf and one plate with lower corners torn with slight loss, otherwise a very nice pair, signature of MAYO, in each volume, from the library of RICHARD FREEMAN.
