*This copy has the printed slip of Sydney Roscoe's Collection tipped in at the front, with both his notes and those of Richard Freeman added. Freeman has signed on the front free end-paper and added a full collation and notes, viz. - 'ROSCOE 4a, variant A, one of 230 copies. This is the first edition which contains the Linnaean names and the first with the Australian animals at the end. The last with the long 's', and the first to appear in imperial format. Prelims unopened. Formulary should be II2, a4, A-Z8, Aa-Ll8, Kk4, Ll2, -2 [--2]. Roscoe shows that II1 and II2 are conjugate. - 2 is a tipped-in leaf and Roscoe's Ll3 is wrong, the signature is sewn between Ll1 and Ll2. a1 is signed a2;'
