*This Atlas is the re-issue in quarto of the 5 volumes folio that Cloquet first published between 1821 and 1831. Cloquet explains in his Preface that this smaller format was issued in order to make it more convenient for study, and was intended to have two accompanying volumes, text and explanation of the plates. ROBERTS & TOMLINSON The Fabric of the Body, pp. 535-6 - 'The atlas was reissued in quarto rather than folio, 1825-36, with some relatively minor additions, including sections on histology.' The folio issue comprised 300 lithographs, the quarto has 340. It appears to be extremely scarce, no copy appearing in any of the major medical collections. The Bibliotheque National de France records a copy in 3 volumes, 4to. and states 'incomplete'.
