Contemporary tree calf newly rebacked, title and final leaf foxed with occasional marginal foxing elsewhere, otherwise a very good copy with good margins, ex libris RICHARD FREEMAN with his notes at the front. **SEE - Forerunners of Darwin, 1745-1859, edited by Bentley Glass, Owsei Temkin, and William L. Straus, Jr. COPAC records the 1751 edition in Edinburgh, Cambridge and at the Wellcome [with a frontispiece, though this is not mentioned elsewhere]; it does not record the 1745 edition of Maupertuis in the UK; OCLC gives the BN France and BEIC Italy; COPAC has the British Library only for the Basset whilst OCLC gives 7 locations, all in Europe.
