XXIV - XXXI - XXXII - XXXIII - XXXVII - LXXIV are in FIRST STATE : pls. I - XVI - XX - XLV - LXXX - LXXXI are in SECOND STATE. New half calf and marbled boards, one text leaf with the lower corner torn with loss and now repaired not affecting the text, wide margins, each text leaf with a decorative woodcut banner above the title of the plate now very faintly offset to the top margin of many of the plates, the plates also frequently offset to the text, some foxing, mostly of the text, title with a slight crease and with signatures of EDWARD GREEN and JAS. HUNTER M.D. EX-LIBRIS RICHARD FREEMAN, Darwin scholar and bibliographer with his notes on the front end-paper.
