Half black calf over blue cloth, a couple of little scuffs, matching slip case with paper label [scratched], EX LIBRIS RICHARD FREEMAN, bibliographer of Charles Darwin, with pp.4 Prospectus and a note from STEVE JONES to Richard Freeman donating this book for his collection - 'Sam Berry tells me that you are interested in the Darwin Centennial volume. It seems to me much more appropriate that you should have it in your collection of Darwiniana than that I should retain it as a decorative book - so here it is with compliments! Yours, Steve Jones. P.S. If you insist, something in a bottle is always welcome.' Freeman has added a note - '£50 sent'. This copy was Steve Jones's review copy, out of series, of the edition limited to 750 copies.
