HARVEY, William.
Prelectiones Anatomiae Universalis.

Edited with an Autotype Reproduction of the Original By a Committee of The Royal College of Physicians of London.

pp. viii, (ii), 98. Opposite pages numbered in duplicate; interleaved with reproduction of manuscript, these leaves being unnumbered. Page numbers correspond to leaves of ms. Comprising : 98 leaves of autotype facsimile of Harvey's original, recto and verso, apart from the first and final leaf which are recto only, and accompanied by letter-press transcription. Original cloth boards, gilt lettered on the front, new half morocco, original marbled end-papers, some learned [though unidentified] pencil marginalia, a very good copy.

*GARRISON-MORTON #758 INTRODUCTION : 'On May 28, 1885, the report of the committee, recommending that the College guarantee the cost of one hundred copies at 2l.2s. each, and that a permanent committee be appointed to superintend the publication, was adopted, and the committee was reapppointed to arrange and supervise the publication.' Apart from this statement, there is no indication as to the limitation of printing though it appears to have been accepted that 300 copies were printed.
