pp. xxiv, 390. Engraved frontispiece, 62 lithographed plates, all handcoloured. Later cloth, corners a bit bumped and a little worn, text is variously affected by spotting , noticeably at the front and end of the book, although the margins are wide, some of the plates towards the end of the book have been slightly cropped by the binder with the loss of the occasional plate number, situated at the top edge of the leaves, or the first few letters of the legend, likewise printed at the top edge, depending upon which way the plate is bound into the book, those plates which face text affected by offsetting and foxing, those which are bound consecutively are mostly clean, very small library stamp on both free end-papers only.
