*Of the performers above, Stanley Holloway achieved the greatest level of success, both for his comic monologues and for his later parts in such films as MY FAIR LADY and THE LAVENDER HILL MOB. Born in 1890, he left school at 14 and began singing on the stage in 1904, billed as Master Stanley Holloway – The Wonderful Boy Soprano. He performed three songs at this Dinner, one of his earliest engagements.
