CITY OF LONDON.
Copy of FREEDOM, a vellum strip attesting that WILLIAM HENRY BATEMAN of London, Turner, was admitted into the Freedom aforesaid and made the Declaration required by Law in the Mayorality of DAVID HENRY STONE ESQ. Mayor and BENJAMIN SCOTT ESQUIRE Chamberlain and is entered in the book signed with the Letter W........... 3rd. December 1874.

Description:
At the top left corner, in ink, the initials PR and the number 11,561, with engraved heraldic device and red paper seal of the City of London, printed in black letter with manuscript details added. Folding into a paper slip case lettered in gilt - COPY OF FREEDOM - CITY OF LONDON. The strip is in very good condition, albeit folded a number of times to fit the slip-case.
