Photographic portrait of Alfred to front title by JOHNSTONE, O'SHANNESSY & CO., MELBOURNE, facsimile signature below, wood-engraved title with vignette, three leaves on thin, purple paper at the end bearing Advertisements for Melbourne commercial suppliers including the photographers - Johnstone, O'Shannessy. Original blue cloth gilt over bevelled boards, all edges gilt, the covers now faded and dull with old water-marks, the damp-staining has also affected the upper and lower margins of the first three leaves and this can be very faintly seen in some of the lower margins later in the book.
