SHAW, George Bernard.
A Special Performance of Don Juan in Hell - A Dream from Man and Superman.

In association with the Arts Council of Great Britain on Friday, 26th July, 1946, to celebrate the Author's 90th birthday.

pp. 7, (i). Front cover with a cartoon of Shaw by VICKY printed in sepia. A quarto-format programme, staples rusting, the top edge creased and nicked, small tear in the top edge of the last two leaves without loss, overall a good copy.

*With a Foreword by Alec Clunes - 'Could you send us a message - (pleasant or unpleasant) that could be read by some well-known figure in the theatre who has been associated with your plays - I would like to suggest Dame Sybil Thorndike ?' Shaw did send a message to the Arts Theatre wishing it all success - the Analytical Programme Note, however, indeed read by Dame Sybil Thorndike, was that written in 1907 for the Court Theatre production. The British Library has a copy of that Note but the above programme is not recorded by COPAC.
