The History of the County Palatine of Chester.

pp. xvi, 663, (i). Engraved title, portrait frontispiece, 29 plates on 27 sheets [1 folding], all copper engraved by I. PIGOT, Manchester, except for Interior of Chester Cathedral [lithograph mounted onto a sheet], numerous wood engraved vignettes, many by ALEXANDER MOSSES. Pages 107 and 108 present but ought to have been cancelled and replaced with the un-numbered leaf now bound before page 601. Contemporary diced calf, worn along spine edges and corners, boards holding on the cords, frontispiece and title foxed and occasional foxing elsewhere, two plates damaged in the fore-margin with old repairs without loss of image, last leaf with a small tear in the paper without loss.

*The Title is dated 1817, the Dedication and the folded map of Chester are both dated 1823. Pp. 650 to 656 contain Additions and Corrections to 1823. The book was issued in parts. The Subscribers' List is on pp. iii-v.
