This Book Is Decorated and Lettered By The Author For His Friend Joseph H. H. Gaute At The New Year Nineteen Hundred and Forty-Six: Thomas Moult.

Comprising 22 leaves, a frontispiece of Tinker's Green, Finchingfield, Essex, title lettered as above by hand, Contents [9 poems, 9 watercolours]. Curwen-type decorated paper boards, Medici Galleries ticket on the rear board, in splendid condition.

*THOMAS MOULT [1893-1974], Georgian poet, best known for his anthologies 'Best Poems of the Year' 1922-1943. The recipient of the above, hand-lettered and hand-coloured, was JOSEPH GAUTE, author and one-time director of Harraps, publishers. COPAC records 'Brown Earth' as a vocal score only, published 1922.
