Early, possibly contemporary sheep, sometime rebacked with the old label relaid, rear top corner renewed, chafed and worn but firm, one leaf with a very small paper flaw in the top margin, one leaf with a tiny hole affecting four letters on one page only caused by a spot of adhesion to the opposite page [verso is blank], one leaf with lower corner torn away not affecting text, occasional edge tear [one repaired], the paper browned to a varying degree throughout because of the very poor quality of the paper [this is the same in all copies of this title], signature removed from top of title affecting a few letters of 'MEDICAL INQUIRIES' and now professionally restored, with the contemporary ? signature of RICHARD TYBOUT on front free end-paper and lower margin of p.366.

*GARRISON-MORTON #4924 - The above offered second issue is distinguished from the first by having Chapter II, Section VIII running from p.62 to p.63. In the first issue, this section is found on p.63 only. There is no half title called for - there is a blank before the title. See AUSTIN Early American Medical Imprints, p.176. The earlier owner, RICHARD TYBOUT, is recorded as a Subscriber to Arthur St.Clair. A Narrative of the Manner in Which the Campaign Against the Indians, etc. Philadelphia, 1812. ANDREW TYBOUT is listed in the City of Philadelphia Muster Rolls, 3rd Co. 2nd Batt, 1784 & 1785. .
