pp. (vi), 89, (i) Corrigenda. Folding table, 8 engraved plates by C. ERMER and W. MÜLLER [4 hand-coloured]. Original boards, uncut, old Bonn library stamp on title, later library stamp at top margin of following two leaves, top of title cut away not affecting text, spine at one time crudely taped, inner joint taped with tape going onto the gutter of the title, one gathering similarly taped, marginal tear in one plate without loss.
*ROBERT FRORIEP (1804-1861) German anatomist, and native of Jena. He studied medicine in Bonn, and later became Prosector at the Charité Hospital in Berlin until 1846; he also had the post of teacher of anatomic drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts. He was a prolific writer, this being his first publication, his thesis on pathological conditions of the tongue, including an account of the foetal development of the tongue. The plates are taken from his own drawings, for which he had a high reputation.
