pp. v, (i), 222. Contemporary sheep, lacking rear board, stitching weak and nearly perished at the end with a couple of gatherings hanging by a single cord, a small patch of worming affecting the GRIGG advertisement [loss of the 'I' of WILLIAM, 'seller' of Bookseller, and the 'd' and following 'g', of Broadgate], and the first three leaves of text.
*WILLIAM GRIGG is recorded by IAN MAXTED Exeter Working Papers in Book History, 1991 [revd. 2008]. The printers WILLIAM ANDREWS fl.1763-1765 - ROBERT TREWMAN fl. 1763-1789 - from which one might assume that the advertisement is not later than 1765. The British Book Trade Index also records Grigg, with his trading dates 1754 to 1790, being at the Broad Gate address 1764 to 1779. This would fit in the with the item above.
