Comprising a printed front wrapper, lettered as above with a vignette of swallows flying to a nest above a doorway, all in blue, the date below in manuscript. The contents are also in manuscript, leaves numbered from 1 to 122, with gaps - LACKING pp. 3-4; 9-10; 39-40; 61-106; 11-114; 117-118. With 8 watercolour sketches and vignettes, a handcoloured engraving of Mary Magdalen by JUMEAUX, a pressed and mounted specimen of a red seaweed - Delessaria, Guernsey - and six pages of a musical score 'March for Organ' [last leaf with lower half cut away]. The contents are loosely contained within a board folder, the front lettered by hand - 'The Bird of Passage. An Illustrated Magazine. Issued Quarterly. July. 1875.'
