None of these records the following - TOGETHER WITH a six page copy of the Chairman's Speech at the Special GM, November 1932 - '... this Club, in common with a good many other Clubs in the West End, was trying to carry on through a world crisis of the first magnitude....', PLUS a round-robin from the Chairman imploring that the recipient should make every effort to recruit new members - 'You will see that the Committee has been granted power by the Members to admit 200 Associate Lady Members if considered desirable, but I wish to assure you that this power will not be exercised until absolutely necessary, when I think you will agree that it would be better to admit a few Lady Members who would not in any way interfere with the male Members, rather than close the Club.'
