Contemporary sheepskin, spine ends, edges and corners rubbed and a bit worn, joints intact, and apart from occasional foxing, text clean. The title calls for 24 plates, thus one plate short - it may never have been bound in as none appears to be missing. There is no plate list and the plates are not numbered, thus it is difficult to assess which plate might be lacking.

*Not in SOTHERAN Bibliotheca Chemico-Mathematica; a very uncommon title - COPAC records this edition from Cambridge and Manchester and a copy of the 1815 edition in the British Library. No other title by Hodson is recorded.
