*Sodium aurothiosulfate, an inorganic compound Na3Au(S2O3)2·2H2O containing an anionic linear coordination complex of gold bound to two thiosulfate ligands. Like several other gold compounds, it is used as an antirheumatic. The first placebo-controlled trial was conducted in 1931, when sanocrysin was compared with distilled water for the treatment of tuberculosis.
