*SOTHERAN Bibliotheca Chemico-Mathematica 2nd. Supplement v.I #1847 et seq. This work was first issued in 1657, with a tenth edition in 1691. The later editions differed considerably from the first. Sotheran #1850 is listed as 1753 Derniere Edition but appears to differ from the edition offered here. The comment, however, records that it has the section on Jettons, '....not included in foregoing ones.' The compiler also notes - 'The work in all its editions is very rare, and was quite unknown to Prof. de Morgan, Poggendorff, and other bibliographers. It is not mentioned by Montucla and Cantor, and there was no copy in the Libri Catalogue.' Clearly even the compiler was not aware of this, earlier edition. There is no work by this author in the Turner Collection.
