Description:
pp. 131, (i). Phototype frontispiece of the Town Hall, another view ditto, both by MACLURE & MACDONALD of Glasgow, 'by a new photoype process, their own invention', 7 woodburytype portraits of the Clark family, after photographs by JOHN FERGUS of Largs. Original red cloth gilt, all edges gilt, the cloth faded and marked, newly recased, one phototype dusty at the fore-edge.

*A charming memorial of a grand occasion - during the procession to the new building, a lithographic press from the works of T. and R. Graham produced copies of a view of the hall for distribution amongst the crowd. The Subscribers List at the end reveals the production of a Family Edition of 30 copies, an Edition de Luxe of 50 copies and this, the Imperial Octavo edition, of 500 copies.
