Original boards uncut, ex-libris local 19C reading society, an old, crude cloth repair to the spine, ditto tapeing of the joints and first and last couple of leaves, small stamp on title, book-labels [one for the Society, the other for MISS BAILLIE, possibly Joanna Baillie 1762-1851, playwright and poet], otherwise text clean and fresh, an unsophisticated copy with interesting provenance.

*This Index was actually volume 3 of Stockdale's edition of Shakespeare's works, the first two volumes in folio. It is complete in itself and not common in first edition.
