pp. xxxii, 480; 481- 920. Portrait, frontispiece of an anatomy theatre, 15 engraved plates [1 folding - the Jardin Royal], 52 text woodcuts. Contemporary French sheepskin, spine gilt within panels, all edges stained red, marbled end-papers, some wear at the spine ends, old snags and scuffs on the boards, an old stain at the top edge of the last third of v.I, similar stain at top edge of the first seventy leaves of v.II, occasional small marginal mark elsewhere, a short marginal tear in the lower edge of the last leaf v.I, decent copies overall.

*GARRISON-MORTON #5575 - 'Dionis taught surgery at the Jardin-du-Roi, Paris, a famous training ground for surgeons.' The first edition was issued in 1707, the first English translation in 1710.
